FAQS

ARE YOU ACCEPTING NEW PATIENTS?

New patients are always welcome, even if it is only because your own GP is closed or you have an after hours emergency.

CAN I GET A DOCTOR OVER THE TELEPHONE?

Visiting doctors are generally very busy however if necessary a message can be left with our nurses or reception staff and we will endeavour to get back to you as possible.

Incoming correspondence via e-mail is against our policies however some doctors may send results through this means with your consent.

DO YOU BULK BILL?

The Redlands Clinic is a privately billing clinic simply because the medicare rebate has in no way kept pace with the escalating cost of providing a quality service. HOW DO I CLAIM MY MEDICARE REBATE?

We offer TYRO for immediate refund of the medicare rebate on the day of the visit.

HOW CAN I GET MY RESULTS?

Your doctor will generally inform you how your results will be given during the consultation. If in doubt or you are unable to obtain them and are worried we would recommend booking a follow-up consultation.

CAN I GET A SAME-DAY APPOINTMENT?

On most occasions we will be able to accommodate this. Most visiting doctors have reserved appointments for booking on the day and emergencies - please give us a call on 5551 6955 and we will do our best to fit you in.

WHY DO DOCTORS RUN LATE?

Generally speaking, your time is very important to us and mostly our doctors don't run late. However medicine is by its nature very difficult to schedule and we appreciate your patience. When making your appointments it would be appreciated if you consider the complexity or number of your health concerns and make a longer appointment if necessary.

DO I ALWAYS NEED TO SEE THE DOCTOR WHEN I NEED ANYTHING?

It is a Medicare requirement that you are seen by the treating practitioner if medicare benefits are to be accessed. There are certain occasions where forms and short term, routine prescriptions can be provided without an appointment and at a small cost.

HOW DO I TRANSFER MY MEDICAL RECORDS?

If you are joining us from another clinic we simply request those records with your consent via a signed form we can send through to your former clinic. If you are leaving us to see another clinic the same process applies.

We keep almost every vaccination including travel vaccinations in stock and can supply them at additional cost on the day of your appointment. Quotes are available on request, the price often varies depending on supplier.
